Open source licences and source code
Meekast DJ is built on open source software. Some of it is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License, which entitles anyone holding a Meekast DJ binary to the source code of those libraries. This page is where you get it — directly, now, with no account and nothing to ask for.
FFmpeg 8.1.3 — corresponding source
These are the exact bytes the FFmpeg shared libraries bundled with Meekast DJ were built from. Not "some FFmpeg 8.1.3": this tarball, verified by checksum before the build touched it.
FFmpeg is bundled per build. If your copy of Meekast DJ contains the library files listed further down this page, this is their corresponding source; builds made before FFmpeg was enabled contain no FFmpeg at all. The source is published here either way, so that it is in place before any binary that needs it goes out.

The libraries are unmodified — no FFmpeg source file
was patched, added to or removed. The exact configure line used
for each platform, which is what makes these builds LGPL rather than GPL,
ships with the application in
FFMPEG-WRITTEN-OFFER.txt alongside the full LGPL-2.1 text. There
is no --enable-gpl, no --enable-nonfree and no
--enable-version3 in either build, and no libx264 or libx265.
Components under the GNU Lesser General Public License
These are the components whose licence obliges Meekast to make source available. Their versions are pinned here because the licence makes the version part of the obligation: source that does not correspond to the binary you have discharges nothing.
| Component | Version | Licence | Ships on | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| FFmpeg | 8.1.3 | LGPL-2.1-or-later | macOS, Windows | download from here (also upstream) |
| TagLib# (TagLibSharp) | 2.3.0 | LGPL-2.1-only | macOS, Windows | upstream |
| SoundTouch.Net | 2.3.2 | LGPL-2.1-or-later | Windows | upstream |
| SoundTouch.Net.NAudioSupport.Core | 2.3.2 | LGPL-2.1-or-later | Windows | upstream |
TagLib# and the two SoundTouch.Net packages are released, unmodified NuGet packages, so their upstream repositories hold the corresponding source. FFmpeg is built here from source, so this server hosts the tarball itself rather than relying on ffmpeg.org continuing to serve that exact release.
How your rights under the LGPL are kept intact
Every library above ships as a separate, replaceable file. Meekast DJ is
not published with PublishSingleFile, PublishTrimmed
or PublishAot, and FFmpeg is never statically linked, so you can
build your own interface-compatible version of any of these libraries and
drop it in.
- macOS. The FFmpeg dylibs live in
Meekast DJ.app/Contents/MonoBundle/aslibavcodec.62.dylib,libavformat.62.dylib,libavutil.60.dylib,libswresample.6.dylibandlibswscale.9.dylib. After replacing one, re-sign the bundle withcodesign --force --deep --sign - "/Applications/Meekast DJ.app". Meekast DJ is not notarised and does not use the hardened runtime, so no library validation prevents your build from loading. - Windows. The FFmpeg DLLs sit in the installation folder
as
avcodec-62.dll,avformat-62.dll,avutil-60.dll,swresample-6.dllandswscale-9.dll. The managed assemblies (TagLibSharp.dll,SoundTouch.Net.dll,SoundTouch.Net.NAudioSupport.dll) are plain files in the same folder.
Everything else Meekast DJ ships
Listed for attribution. None of these licences carries a source-availability obligation, which is why their versions are not pinned: a version number this page could not verify would rot, and would buy nothing. The authoritative, complete attribution document — including the full licence texts — ships inside the application itself, under Third-party notices.

Eigen is MPL-2.0 and arrives compiled inside the ONNX Runtime native library. The MPL is a file-level licence: it attaches to Eigen's own source files and reaches no other code, and §3.2 permits distributing the compiled form under any terms provided the source stays available, which the link above is.
Nothing here obliges Meekast's own source to be published
No component Meekast DJ ships is under the GPL, the AGPL, the SSPL or any source-available licence. The copyleft that is present is weak copyleft — LGPL-2.1 and MPL-2.0 — and it reaches those libraries only.
If this page is ever wrong
It is meant to be checkable, so: the tarball above is served with its SHA-256 as an HTTP ETag, the checksum is rehashed every time Meekast Server is built, and an automated test downloads it and re-hashes what actually comes back. If a link here fails, or a version listed does not match the build you have, that is a bug and worth reporting — the source is also at ffmpeg.org/releases in the meantime.
